Well folks, I'm going to keep this one short and sweet. Since I didn't watch The Ultimate Fighter 17 (I haven't watched since the likes of Nate Diaz and Joe Lauzon were chillin' in the house), I'm not going to be much help with the TUF portion of the finale. But I can offer some advice on the established fighters competing at the event. Anyway, here's a look at the betting lines for every fight (via BestFightOdds):
Obviously the main event isn't worth betting on. Is Kelvin Gastelum worth trying at at +325? I have no idea, but if you can get Uriah Hall at -325, hedging doesn't seem like a terrible plan. I'm a little bit surprised that Cat Zingano is the slight favorite over Miesha Tate considering that Tate does have really good grappling. So I'll be betting on the fighter the big-fight experience there.
On the undercard, I'll skip straight to the Facebook fights (though for some reason, I think Luke Barnatt is going to beat Collin Hart...no idea why). Maximo Blanco has not looked anything like he did in Japan, and Sam Sicilia is a pretty good striker so I'll take him in the +190 range. And while Bart Palaszewski seems like he has decent value at around -160, I don't really like betting on Cole Miller fights because I'm never sure which Cole Miller is going to show up.
1 unit on Tate at +109
.5 unit on Sicilia at +190
Last event: UFC on Fuel 9 - 2-2, +.22 unit
2013 standings: 9-17, -5.86 units
