PXC has set up a 4-man featherweight tournament with names such as Mark Striegl, Yusuke Yachi, Jang Yong Kim and Nate Thorell. The tourney starts at PXC 37 and it will determine a new PXC 145 lb champ.

Following an impressive win over PXC lightweight Champ, Harris Sarmiento, fast rising featherweight star Mark Striegl (12-0) was supposed to earn a shot at the promotion's 145 lb title. Plans changed though as title holder Joe Taimanglo left for Bellator, and now PXC officials have instead decided to set up a 4-man tournament to determine a new champion.

The aforementioned Filipino-American fighter in Striegl will be in the tourney, and he will be facing off against newly signed 22-year-old Japanese star, Yusuke Yachi. A Shooto Rookie champ and Pacific Rim title holder, Yachi has had an impressive start to his career so far, having gone 9-3 while representing the stacked Krazy Bee gym.

On the other side of the bracket will have Korea's Jang Yong Kim, who also has a win over Harris Sarmiento, taking on American prospect Nate Thorell (4-1).

The tourney starts at PXC 37, which happens on May 18, in Manila Philippines. The card will be headlined by a bantamweight title fight between current champ from Team Lakay in Crisanto Pitpitunge and unbeaten prospect and grappling whiz, Michinori Tanaka.
