Following his fourth consecutive top 10 win at UFC 158, Welterweight Johny Hendricks has finally been granted his well-earned title shot against champion Georges St. Pierre. He finally sealed his case for contendership with a decision win against former interim champ Carlos Condit in a Fight of the Night performance.
A couple days ago, Hendricks had a few comments for the 170 lb. king. Specifically, he said that he'd enjoy some extra training time while Georges was in filming for his role in the upcoming Captain America movie. Well, GSP took notice and responded with a message of his own (via MMA Mania):
"I'm already training. I train all the time. I heard Hendricks say 'Oh, when he's doing the movie, I'll be training.' Well, I have some news for him, I'm already training now. I trained two, three days after the (Nick Diaz) fight, I was in the gym training. The movie has nothing to to with the end of my career. I love what I do right now."
St. Pierre last defended his belt at UFC 158 with a decision victory over Nick Diaz. Although, the UFC has confirmed that Hendricks will be the next challenger, an event for the fight has not been set.
