WMMA is where MMA was about 10 years ago... Give it time. Every Invicta card (well, the last one was definitely it's weakest so far, in terms of action, but still) has been satisfying and on par to a UFC/Strikeforce card imo.
Tennis, occasionally soccer and MMA are the only sports I can think of where the women's action isn't brutal compared to the men or at least on par.
Also, @kingsgambit there might not be any well-known names. But there are plenty of exciting fighters... stated above Joanne Calderwood, Seo Hee Ham, VV Mei, Bec Hyatt, Herrig, Ayaka Hamasaki and Sanja Sucevic. All these ladies can F I G H T.
Herrig/Hamasaki aren't the most exciting, but that's only because they haven't had anyone to test them yet. Esparza/Hamasaki is going to be a barn burner, and Herrig vs SHH/VVMei/Calderwood would all be fireworks on the feet.
There's so much in WMMA thats being overlooked. I keep seeing comments saying its not on a comparable level to the men. Okay, I don't disagree with that, but tell me how many bad Male fights have you seen? Probably, a lot.
Give this weeks Invicta card a chance. You might just change your mind.
