Former Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh Thomson will enter the cage as a betting underdog on April 20th in San Jose.
Nate Diaz will look to bounce back from a title shot loss when he meets former Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh Thomson at UFC on Fox 7 on April 20th, and he's the early betting favorite. The line has been out for a few days now, and there's a fair amount of variation between sites. Here's the best you can do on either side at the moment (via BestFightOdds):
Thomson is as low as +125 on one site, but most have him at +140 or +150 at the moment. Diaz (16-8) seems like a pretty solid bet right now, at least to me. While Thomson (19-5, 1 NC) looked excellent in his last bout with Gilbert Melendez, it will be almost a year between fights for him and Diaz is an extremely tough opponent for his re-rebut (he went 2-1 in his first UFC run in 2003-4). If anything Diaz is probably going to open up a little more, possibly into the -180 or -190 range, so if you're looking to bet on the Stockton fighter, now would be the time.
