Welterweight Matt Riddle has signed a multi-fight deal with Texas-based Legacy Fighting Championship, this coming after he was released from the UFC for another failed drug test.
It didn't take long for former UFC welterweight Matt Riddle to find another organization to fight under. The TUF 7 alum has signed a deal with Legacy Fighting Championship in Texas. Via MMA Junkie:
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has confirmed with sources close to the fighter that he has a signed a multi-fight deal with the Texas-based Legacy Fighting Championship.
Riddle's debut for the promotion, which features fights broadcast on AXS TV, has yet to be announced.
Riddle was given the UFC pink slip after testing positive for marijuana metabolites, his second marijuana-related failed drug test in less than a year. His wins over Chris Clements and Che Mills were overturned as a result.
This is unfamiliar territory for Riddle, whose entire professional career (7-3, 2 NC) has been under the UFC umbrella. When he competed on TUF 7 he had zero pro MMA experience, much like the eventual season winner Amir Sadollah.
