Two more preliminary card fights have been added to the UFC on FX 8 card on May 18th in Santa Catarina, Brazil, including the return of light-heavyweight Fabio Maldonado.

We have two more fights to announce for the UFC on FX 8 preliminary card. The first fight is between lightweights Gleison Tibau and John Cholish:

Gleison Tibau and John Cholish have verbally agreed to fight on the card, which is set to take place May 18 at Arena Jaragua in Santa Catarina, Brazil, sources close to the fight confirmed with MMAFighting.com.

Tibau (26-9) lost a split-decision to Evan Dunham at UFC 156. His last fight in Brazil was a unanimous decision win over Francisco Trinaldo. The 29-year-old -- yes, he's 29 -- has fought an astonishing 19 times in the UFC, dating back to his debut in 2006 (fought at welterweight) against Nick Diaz at UFC 65.

Cholish (8-2) debuted with a TKO win over Mitch Clarke at UFC 140, but dropped a unanimous decision to WEC and UFC mainstay Danny Castillo at UFC on Fox 3 last May. The Castillo fight was his only one of 2012, as he had to pull out of a scheduled bout against Yves Edwards in December with an injury.

The other scheduled fight sees light-heavyweight slugger Fabio Maldonado against Canada's Roger Hollett.

Maldonado (18-6) has lost three straight fights, but was unlucky to lose decisions against Kyle Kingsbury and Igor Pokrajac. After losing those two bouts, he stepped in for an injured Quinton Jackson at UFC 153 to face Glover Teixeira, and took an absolute pounding for two rounds before a doctor's stoppage prevented any more punishment. The Brazilian boxer is known for his tendency for his persistent body punching.

Hollett (13-4) put in a fairly tepid and uninspiring effort against Matt Hamill at UFC 152, and lost an uneventful unanimous decision. He was scheduled to fight Wagner Prado at UFC on FX 7 before an injury forced him off the card.

UFC on FX 8 is on May 18th, and the preliminary card is split between Fuel TV and Facebook.
