An originally reported middleweight bout between Strikeforce veterans Roger Gracie and Tim Kennedy will likely take place on July 6th and not UFC on FX 8 in May.
Original reports of Roger Gracie and Tim Kennedy fighting at UFC on FX 8 in Brazil appear to be incorrect. Instead, the two former Strikeforce middleweights will be scheduled for the first week of July. Gracie Magazine has the details:
Jiu-Jitsu world champion Roger Gracie will make his UFC debut along side a fellow Strikeforce import in Tim Kennedy when the two face off on July 6, Gracie told GracieMag.com on Monday.
The two have agreed to face each other at a yet-to-be announced UFC event in Las Vegas.
While the UFC hasn't officially announced it, that July 6th card is almost certainly UFC 162. A middleweight title fight between Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman is also rumored for this event. The UFC has consistently held PPVs on 4th of July weekend over the past few years and it would be logical to conclude this year will be no different.
The other reported fight for FX 8 in May, C.B. Dollaway vs. Cezar Ferreira, appears to be staying on the card as of this writing.
