UFC on FX 8: Belfort vs. Rockhold fight card shaping up

Chris Trotman

A look at the UFC's next trip to Brazil, an FX card in Santa Catarina with a big middleweight event between Vitor Belfort and Luke Rockhold.

If you miss Strikeforce, this is the card for you. You have Strikeforce's final middleweight champion Luke Rockhold fighting Vitor Belfort in the main event. Former Strikeforce champion Jacare Souza takes on Costa Philippou in another big middleweight clash, and Roger Gracie and Tim Kennedy also are set to fight on May 18th in Santa Catarina, Brazil. UPDATE: Kennedy vs. Gracie is now reported for UFC 162.

The best non-middleweight related fight on the card is easily Rafael dos Anjos and Evan Dunham, two exciting lightweights with plenty of promise, but neither one of them has quite made the push to become a legitimate contender in the crowded 155 lbs shark tank.

This card is not complete, the main card and preliminary card ordering is not set, but here's a glance at the current list of fights, with 3-4 more to come over the next few weeks:

Vitor Belfort vs. Luke Rockhold
Ronaldo Souza vs. Constantinos Philippou
Rafael dos Anjos vs. Evan Dunham
Roger Gracie vs. Tim Kennedy
Cezar Ferreira vs. C.B. Dollaway
Francisco Trinaldo vs. Mike Rio
Paulo Thiago vs. Lance Benoist
John Lineker vs. Azamat Gashimov
