The world's #1 kickboxer, Giorgio Petrosyan, was in action this weekend. Petrosyan took on One FC fighter Ole Laursen at a kickboxing event in Italy on Saturday. Check out the (somewhat shaky) video of the full fight above.
Petrosyan turned in an uncharacteristically aggressive performance here, knocking Laursen out clean with a head kick in round 1. Typically, the more reserved Petrosyan uses his superior technical skills to decision opponents, but here, Laursen was clearly overmatched from the beginning and fell victim to a more spirited Petrosyan attack.
Though this was not a great showing from Laursen, it's important to note that he does indeed have good kickboxing experience, having competed in K-1 MAX and other kickboxing organizations before making the full time switch to MMA, though never scoring any big wins in K-1 or elsewhere.
Petrosyan keeps his incredible 6 year unbeaten streak alive. He next fights for Glory on April 20, taking on Hafid El Boustati in what should be another win for The Doctor.
