In possibly the greatest Fanpost ever written, it was alleged that GSP and Rory MacDonald are on a truckload of the finest Canadian PED's. I thought, yep, of course they are-they're professional athletes in the year 2013. Others weren't so sure, and argued athletes like GSP and Cain Velasquez have too much to lose to try PED's. I LOL'd and said, Lance Motherfucking Armstrong, yo. There is literally not one fighter that would surprise me with a positive test.
I figure most of them are, with maybe some exceptions for religious beliefs or health concerns or just craziness. Anderson Silva is my favorite fighter, and it'd be cool if what he has done has been natural, but I've been fooled, oh, about 12,527 times before and would be comically naive at this point to rule someone out based on legacy (see Bonds, Barry) or physique (see Sylvia, Tim) or any other disqualifer we try to convince ourselves with, especially taking into account that most of his opponents are likely juiced.
I would guess MMA only fans, who haven't been following other sports over the last 15 years or so, might be more inclined to think these guys are natural. I have a hard time believing that, after what we've seen in baseball, football players and fighters especially aren't reaping the benefits of PED's.
What's the consensus, BE? Still believe in Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, and clean professional athletes?
