SB Nation Rankings: Pound-for-Pound

Eric Bolte-US PRESSWIRE

Not much has changed over the past few months in the SBN pound-for-pound rankings.

No belts have changed hands in the UFC for a while, so it's not very surprising that the SB Nation pound-for-pound rankings haven't moved a whole lot since they were last updated in late November. The only major changes involved inactive bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz, who continues to slide while being out of action and has actually been passed by interim champ Renan Barao. Here's what the panel had to say:

(Scoring: Fighters are given 10 points for a first-place vote, nine points for a second, etc., down to one point for 10th place. The results are then tallied up and presented here. Official SB Nation rankings policy: Fighters under commission suspension are ineligible to be ranked during the duration of their suspension or if they have licensing issues).

The top eight were all unanimous amongest the panelists, but there was a bit of disagreement about where they stood. After that though, things get a bit cloudy. Cruz was only selected by four of the six panelists and dropped to ninth, while six different fighters received at least one vote for the nine and ten spots. Johny Hendricks and Gilbert Melendez ended up tying for the 10 position, while Chris Weidman, Ronda Rousey, Lyoto Machida, and Anthony Pettis came up a bit short.

Schedule for ranked fighters:

1 Anderson Silva vs. NR Chris Weidman, UFC 161, July 6th

3 Jon Jones vs. NR Chael Sonnen, UFC 159, April 27th

4 Jose Aldo vs. NR Anthony Pettis, August

5 Ben Henderson vs. T10 Gilbert Melendez, UFC on Fox 7, April 20th

6 Cain Velasquez vs. NR Antonio Silva, UFC 160, May 25th

8 Renan Barao vs. NR Eddie Wineland, UFC 161, June 15th
