If there's anything my obsessed Pride fan friends are good for, it's informing me of JMMA. Which then leads to trashing the UFC for being "boring" and "bad judging" and "wrestling" in which I reply "Why are you still here? I don't care. There is no yellow card. Appreciate Jiu Jitsu and shut the fuck up. If you want to see randohs knock each other out, here's a fucking World Star Hip Hop" So imagine my reaction when this pops up in my email.
Apparently in Japan, they decided to stage a wrestling match between Yoshihiro Takayama and known red blooded American, Don Frye. And it's a tag-team match. I guess they needed an extra helping hand to help out the old man whom I'm pretty sure is dying his beard like we're stupid or something.
It starts off looking like Pancrease which with my little knowledge of Japanese wrestling I'm going to assume it's normal. Then Takayama calls out Don Frye and, yes, they run back the bludgeoning of faces.
As an avid
wrestling WWE fan, I notice a lot of differences. Main thing would be the quietness of the crowd which I hear it's only because they appreciate what's going on. Second is the variety of moves which includes of a lot of Knees 2 Faces. Also, the wrestlers don't provoke a lot of heat from the crowd. Like they're not as animated. But whatever. I was entertained for a Sunday morning drinking my orange juice and eating my turkey sausage and egg sandwich. Feel free to educate me for my ignorance plagues me at this moment
Either way, I love seeing Don Frye deliver his Indiana Jones right hands as his aged wrestling partner delivers muthafuckin' HURRICANRANAS! While Big Boots are delivered, the bad blood is CLEARLY made throughout the match after Takayama can't seem to let go of the past. It starts around 8 minutes but goddamn the best part is possibly the best 23 seconds of my life at 1:17 as Don Frye is probably shooting a promo....or talking about something recently.
