Bellator 93 Results/Gifs: Jansen stifles Held, Martinez and Page score quick knockouts

Dallas Winston and Zombie Prophet unite for gif-flavored results of Bellator 93, which featured the Lightweight Tournament finals (Dave Jansen vs. Marcin Held) and another finish-heavy turnout.

Bellator 93 went off tonight from the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine. A long delayed finals match between Lightweight Tournament leftovers Dave Jansen and Marcin Held headlined the show, while heavyweights Travis Wiuff and Ryan Martinez claimed main-card space along with former UFC lightweight Marcus Davis, who took on Waachiim Spiritwolf, and striking phenom Michael Page in his Bellator debut.

Dave Jansen defeats Marcin Held by unanimous decision (29-28 x 3)

Polish submission artist Marcin Held was unable to ply his crafty grappling wizardry against Dave Jansen's finely tuned anti-Jiu-Jitsu. The opening round was a frenetically paced slug-fest that saw both competitors drench the other with crisp leather. Each landed their fair share and had their moments in an even and entertaining 1st round. Held was dead-set on enforcing his ground game in the 2nd and earned the opportunity with a well-timed takedown, but Jansen showed excellent composure and submission defense by patiently slipping out of Held's chain of attempts and peppering the 22-year-old with relentless ground strikes in the 2nd and 3rd.

With the unanimous decision win, Jansen takes the Lightweight Tournament and advances to a crack at champion Michael Chandler's belt.

Ryan Martinez defeats Travis Wiuff by TKO (punches), Round 1

What you see is what you get here. Ryan Martinez uncorked a crushing sequence of lefts and rights, landing the first left over the top and straightening out the second to crumple Travis Wiuff before sealing it off with a few rights for good measure. The 18-second throttling was definitive and devastating.

Marcus Davis and Waachiim Spiritwolf fight to a No Contest (knee to the groin)

After a promising start with some entertaining back and forth striking exchanges, Marcus Davis sent a knee below the belt that had Waachiim Spiritwolf writhing in agony on the canvas. Though unintentional, the blow landed full-force and Spiritwolf, amidst a hail of boos from Davis' hometown crowd, could not force himself to his feet after the 5-minute respite.

Michael Page defeats Ryan Sanders by KO (punch), Round 1

London Shootfighter Michael Page, who's been attracting attention for his creative knockouts and unbridled swagger, made his Bellator debut and didn't disappoint. Ryan Sanders was intent on shrinking the distance and rushed Page right out of the gate: Page sidestepped the first bull-rush but held his ground on the second and plastered Sanders with a brutal right hand for a 10-second KO.

Dave Vitkay defeats Jesse Peterson by submission (guillotine choke), Round 1

Dave Vitkay fought like a man possessed. He vaulted out of his corner with a body kick and knees to rattle Peterson, then went into a full-on sprint before greeting Peterson, who somersaulted back to his feet, with a charging step-in knee. Seamlessly, Vitkay cinched up a guillotine and put Peterson to sleep with it.
