Daniel Straus, winner of Bellator's Season Six Featherweight tournament, has been arrested in Florida and is being held on multiple charges by the Broward County Sheriff's Department. He was arrested yesterday, March 1, on four charges and is being held on $2,200 bail. He was arrested by the Fort Lauderdale Police and charged with driving with a suspended license, possession of cannabis over 20 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia or use and possession of MDMA (ecstasy).
He is being held under his full name Daniel Mason-Straus.
It's been a bad week for Straus. He had been set to challenge Bellator FW champ Patrick Curran for the title at Bellator 95 on April 4 but he had to pull out of that bout with a broken hand this past Tuesday. Curran will now face Season 7 tournament winner Shahbulat Shamhalaev at Bellator 95 instead.
The 28-year-old Straus is 21-4 as a pro mixed martial artist and is 6-1 in Bellator. He frequently trains with the American Top Team in Florida.
