After having Visa issues that prevented him from fighting in the US, Bellator's Paul Daley will be heading to Dubai this May when he takes on Rodrigo Ribeiro.
After some legal troubles in the UK led to Visa issues which barred him from competing in the United States, Paul Daley has been forced to find work elsewhere. Last February, Bellator allowed him to compete in Ireland where the UFC vet landed another highlight reel KO, and this May, he will be heading to the Middle East for a bout in Dubai.
As Dubai Fighting Championship announced today, the former top ranked welterweight will be facing off against "Ximbica" Rodrigo Ribeiro, a BJJ Black Belt who last fought at ONE FC 5. The bout will happen on May 10, and it will be the headliner for the UAE-based promotion's 4th event.
"Would like to thank Bellator for allowing me to fight again away from the promotion", Daley said on social media as he talked about fighting again for a different organization, "They've shown great understanding, and have worked with me to make this fight happen"
Daley will look to make it three in a row since his last bout in Strikeforce last year. Ribeiro on the other hand, is an Evolve MMA product who will be looking to get back on the winning track after dropping 2 bouts with ONE FC against Phil Baroni and Rustam Khabilov.
