Darren Elkins picked up a controversial first round TKO victory over Antonio Carvalho in their UFC 158 featherweight bout.

Darren Elkins is now 5-0 at featherweight and picked up his first stoppage in those five fights with a first round TKO win over Antonio Carvalho at UFC 158, but the fight ended in controversy. Elkins hurt Carvalho with punches and sent him to the canvas but despite the fact that Carvalho was back up immediately, referee Yves Lavigne was already between the men and ended the fight at the 3:06 mark of the first.

Elkins clinched up pretty much immediately after the fight got started and looked to beat up Carvalho's body. Carvalho came back with some left hooks and a leg kick. Elkins landed a right to the ear that wobbled Pato. Elkins followed with another left and a right that dropped him. Pato popped back up right away, but the referee had already waved off the fight. Carvalho complained, saying he was fine. But it was too late.

Despite the controversy, Carvalho dropped to 2-2 in the UFC while Elkins continued his climb in the UFC featherweight division.
