Jordan Mein was one of the top welterweight prospects in Strikeforce. Dan Miller was a former middleweight that had taken on a lot of top opponents. The matchup looked excellent on paper, and it delivered in the cage as well. After surviving a tight armbar early, Mein took over with his striking and beat the tar out of Miller over the final 90 seconds of the round until he finally got the stoppage win at 4:42 of the first round. It was the first time Miller had been stopped in his career.
After a minute of cautious striking to start, Miller ducking a winging punch and got the takedown. Mein looked for a sweep but Miller locked up an armbar. Mein looked like he was done but he somehow scrambled and escaped to his feet. Mein looked a bit lost after that and ate a couple of punches, but came back with an elbow. And then Mein dropped him with a straight left. Instead of going to the ground with him, he let him up.
Mein landed another right and stalked Miller over to the cage. Two straight jabs stunned Miller, and he dropped him with a left and two punches to the body. Miller turtled up, but Mein was all over him and got the finish.
