A look at the current fight card status of World Series of Fighting's next fight card, scheduled for March 23rd in Atlantic City.
World Series of Fighting returns next month after a relatively quiet past several weeks of news. They've struck a deal with NBC Sports Network to air at least six cards per year, and this is the first of 2013. Atlantic City, NJ is their next stop and the main event is a heavyweight fight between Andrei Arlovski and Anthony Johnson. Arlovski stopped Devin Cole in WSOF's inaugural show, and he's currently on a 5-fight unbeaten run. That one "non-win" was a no-contest against Tim Sylvia at ONE FC in August 2012 after he illegally soccer kicked a downed Sylvia without the express written consent of the referee.
If you were joking about Rumble's physique back when he was a welterweight, he's now literally fighting at heavyweight. He's found the one weight class where there's a 60 lbs "safe zone" for him not to miss weight. And in all seriousness, this could be a really fun fight.
The night's co-main event pits bantamweights Tyson Nam and Marlon Moraes against each other. You may remember Nam KOed Bellator champion Eduardo Dantas (who is defending his belt next Thursday), while Moraes upset former #1 BW and WEC star Miguel Torres in WSOF's first show.
We've only got 5 confirmed fights so far, along with the possibility of Igor Gracie also competing on the show. The night's main card airs live on NBC Sports Network at 9:30 PM ET/6:30 PM PT. Take a look at what's been booked as of this writing:
Andrei Arlovski vs. Anthony Johnson
Tyson Nam vs. Marlon Moraes
David Branch vs. Paulo Filho
Josh Burkman vs. Ryan LaFlare
Gesias Cavalcante vs. Justin Gaethje
Igor Gracie vs. TBA
