UFC slashes roster
Much has been said about the recent cuts the UFC made, including the surprising release of Jon Fitch and several top 75 fighters. White has said this is a big spring cleaning year and I imagine most will come from the 155 and 170 classes which make up the bulk of the UFC's roster. The second tier promotions are about to get a bit more interesting as indicated by WSOF's Ray Sefo revealing that they are close to a deal with Fitch already.
The teleprompter is your friend The Ortiz/Cyborg press conference was a train wreck of WarGodz proportions. Ortiz blew a golden opportunity for Santos in requesting a release from Zuffa and then signing with Invicta, the very same promotion that he had previously complained about when Zuffa said they would get Santos work while they worked on developing women's MMA in the UFC. Not only did he not act in good faith for his client, he had her jump on a scale in front of media to prove his asinine point that dropping to 135 was 'impossible'. Tito, use a teleprompter for goodness sake.
