Tom Szczerbowski-US PRESSWIRE
A huge lightweight fight with possible title implications is set for the UFC's Memorial Day weekend event, as Canada's TJ Grant fights Gray Maynard at UFC 160.
Surging UFC lightweight contender T.J. Grant has his next fight confirmed, and it's far and away his toughest one yet. The Canadian will face two-time title challenger Gray Maynard at UFC 160 in Las Vegas in what is certainly a huge fight for both men. Confirmation of the booking was made by the UFC via Twitter:
News at night: Top-ten ranked lightweight contenders @tj_grant and @graymaynard will fight at UFC 160 May 25 in Las Vegas.

Grant (20-5 MMA, 7-3 UFC) is 4-0 at lightweight and while he's primarily a grappler with very good submission skills, he has shown remarkable progress as a striker, and he proved that in his fights against Evan Dunham and Matt Wiman. His 1st round KO over Wiman last month in Chicago marked only the 2nd time Wiman had ever been stopped by strikes in his entire career.
Maynard (11-1-1, 1 NC MMA; 9-1-1 1 NC, UFC) is recovering from a knee injury (which later required surgery) that put him out of his scheduled bout with Joe Lauzon at UFC 155. His last fight was an ugly split decision win over Clay Guida last June in the main event of UFC on FX 4. Maynard previously and memorably fought for the LW belt twice against Frankie Edgar, drawing the first time and losing by 4th round KO the second time.
UFC 160 is set for May 25th in Las Vegas, with a main event of Cain Velasquez and Antonio Silva for the heavyweight championship.
