Welcome again, soldiers. Tonight is the 3rd battle of BECW5, and there is a super-ultra stacked card for the occasion. The Thugjitsu master opens the FX prelims off fighting somebody we've never heard of. Two of the most exciting fighters ever, Volkmann and Woodley, each have their own bout. The king of the prelims Gleison Tibau is back and fighting Evan Dunham. I don't really care about any of that though, it's the main card that is loaded. Uncle Creepy and Joe B start it off, then Fitch and Maia will compete in what could actually be the most anticipated fight on the card despite it not getting much promotion. The Reem will look to vandalize Easter Island, Rashad will face off against the Nog nobody has cared about for several years, and the fights conclude with a title fight, super fight depending on your definition, with everyone's favorite tiny destroyer Jose Aldo versus Frankie "I confuse judges" Edgar. My two favorite fighters are competing tonight, so I'm pretty excited/nervous/scared for this event to kick off.
As for the BECW5, this is one of five regular season games remaining, so there's still plenty of time to snatch or lose a playoff spot. So make sure you go out there and get a win tonight, or at the very least, put up a very respectable team score to keep you in the wildcard race. 3 of the 4 top seeds were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last season, so don't think that because your team isn't leading the standings so far that you don't have a chance of going all the way. After tonight, you'll repeat the same schedule again so teams will have a chance to avenge earlier losses. For now, though, here's the full card for tonight's event.

Team Standings After Week 2
Week 3 Schedule
Leonard Garcia's Picking Accuracy (forkboy) 0-2 vs. Legion of Lurkers (ScorecardOTN) 1-1
Forkboy's team has had some bad luck lately losing both of their matches, so a win tonight is crucial. They could actually take second in their division with a win depending on if they get some help from OBP's team in the other match. They do lead the wildcard race at the moment though, for what it's worth. Their opponents, the Legion of Lurkers, find themselves in a precarious situation as they won their first event of the season, but had a poor showing last week which has dropped them to last place in the standings. Never fear though, LoL, a win here and a loss from your rival lanky's team would give you a guaranteed second place standing in the division.
We Came To Pick, They Came To Grapple (lanky6) 1-1 vs. The Bjorn Ultimatum (Our Bovile Public) 2-0
The Bjorn Ultimatum is sitting pretty on top of the standings, undefeated and with the second-highest team score thus far in the season. Even with a loss they can still hold onto their first-place spot in the division, but I'm sure OBP has his sights set higher than that. After an embarrassing defeat to rival Scorecard's team in Week 1, We Came To Pick, They Came To Grapple rebounded strong last week getting the team back on track. However, they need to keep this up and secure a W again tonight or they will be digging themselves a hole for the future.
I Can't Believe It's Not Horsemeat! (Andy Davis) 1-1 vs. TASACDWS (gxc) 0-2
It's pretty much now or never for gxc's team, as they don't have one of the highest point totals this far in the season and are yet to win a game. Going 0-3 would be disastrous for their playoff hopes, and would be even more bitter to swallow if gxc's cousin and division rival POW earns a spot. I Can't Believe It's Not Horsemeat couldn't care less about the woes of TACO COWS though, and if they want to make a name for themselves as a team, now is their chance to take advantage of a squad without chemistry and get their record on the winning side.
Dana White's Bail Bonds (RonSwanson) 2-0 vs. The Fukers (POW) 1-1
Ron certainly has nothing to be disappointed about so far in the season as his team is second in the playoff picture and showing consistency with 4th place team finishes for both previous events. Now is not the time to put the foot on the brake though, as The Fukers will look to rebound from their loss and last-place finish in Week 2 and get back on the winning end of things. A loss for them will certainly drop them out of the playoff race for the moment, so now is the time to put up huge numbers and knock the division leader down to Earth a bit in the process.
Hard to choose a Game of the Week with these matches, but this one's my pick. Hall's team had the worst showing of any team in Week 1, then followed it up with the best team score for Week 2. So who the hell knows what they're going to do this week. To add to the worries of inconsistency, they're sort of forced to have a great performance tonight if they want to win against undefeated Bloody Elbe led by the back-to-back champion PFP. Bob Sapp's Bushido Spirit is just barely clinging onto the 8th seed at the moment so a loss would not do them any favors, especially in this division. Bloody Elbe is looking to win and keep a hold of their top spot in the division and climb the playoff standings further, but could actually theoretically remain the top team in the Bones Division with a loss depending on the other match in this group.
Tim Kennedy Thread Survivors (Violent Newt) 0-2 vs. Birds of War (Sugel Mendoza) 1-1
With only the 8th highest points total for a team thus far, the Tim Kennedy Thread Survivors are in a bad situation going winless through two events. It's pretty obvious that they need to get a W tonight, otherwise they're most likely going to have to be forced to duke it out for one of the two wildcard spots, and as previously noted, their points total isn't exactly trailblazing up to now. The Birds of War have the highest point total of any team in the competition, but had a heartbreaking loss to the perpetually banned PFP. A win for them will secure at least second spot in the division, and if the Bushido Spirit are able to upset PFP, all three of these teams would have identical records and would be fighting for the top of the division based on points.
The Legion of Lurkers and Team Long Name combined for over 46% of the poll for who will finish last this season. Now's the chance to prove us wrong. A lot of fights are being looked at as awfully one-sided, but the Woodley vs. Hieron fight should be interesting as our camp is virtually split 50/50 on it.
