As some of you know i'm THEFILMGUY and my life is basically film
I spend my days either working on a film or preparing to work on a film or arguing/debating about film, the shit never ends but i love it because film has the power to transport you to places you'll never go or even places that don't exist, you can leave your crappy job or shitty life for a few hours and be immersed in something amazing (or completely terrible)
One of my earliest memories of the cinema was my mum taking me to see Jurassic park, she sold it to me like this (i'm 3 at the time) its a film full of dinosaurs...now i know what a crap synopsis but i didn't need to know much more because its dinosaurs and who doesn't love them! but when that Brontosaurus appeared on screen nothing could have prepared me, i was astonished, amazed and completely blown away and that ignited my love of film.
if you clicked on this you're probably wondering, Hey FILMJERK whats your favorite so i can belittle and judge it, well
My favorite film of all time is
Man on fire
Fanning and Washington steal the show for me, their tender scenes are the emotional heart of a film full of death, corruption and betrayal and with lines like "Creasy's art is death. He's about to paint his masterpiece." you cant go wrong
So to the point at hand we have a eclectic group of people on Bloody Elbow and i would like to know what are your favorite films? And why are they your favorite films?
