Tom Watson and Stanislav Nedkov made up for two lackluster prelims fights by engaging in a wild middleweight brawl. Watson ended up getting the TKO win.
The first two fights on the UFC on Fuel 7 preliminary card were sleepers, but the third bout woke everyone up. After decision wins by Phil Harris and Vaughan Lee, Tom Watson looked to make it three for three for UK fighters in front of their countrymen and got the job done by stopping Stanislav Nedkov.
Watson started strong, beating Nedkov up for most of the first round in the clinch. With about 30 seconds to go though, Nedkov flattened Watson with a huge shot and pounded away on the ground looking for the finish. It didn't come, but he stole the round.
The second round turned into a slugfest, with both men doing major damage. Nedkov got some takedowns and pounded away, but Watson got up and battered Nedkov against the cage with knees. A visibly exhausted Nedkov finally wilted after some massive knees and punches, and Watson picked up the first win of his UFC career.
After the bout, Watson got on the mic and said he didn't care if he won or lost, and was knocked out three times in this fight alone. He also took a shot at fighters that use TRT, and challenged all of them to a fight.
Results:
Tom Watson defeated Stanislav Nedkov by TKO, 4:42 of round 2
Vaughan Lee defeated Motonobu Tezuka by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Phil Harris defeated Ulysses Gomez by unanumous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
