So tonight was a big night for the Marcelo Garcia academy in NYC. It was the grand opening of the new location coupled with the belt promotion ceremony. This night was a big deal as we had stars in the house such as Alliance co-founder Romero "Jacare" Cavalcanti and UFC veteran and well respected blackbelt Kurt Pelegrino. Of course we had the true all-star, Marcelo presenting the belts and actually promoted for the first time in his life his first student to a brown belt. It was wonderful and emotional night for Marcelo and his wife Tatiana and I wish them nothing but the best. However, the true magical moment was when a bunch of the Marcelo Garcia Academy members decided to do a Harlem Shake dance (which I am a part of) and Kurt Pelegrino actually is in it as well.
