Fight announcements are pouring in for the UFC's Ultimate Fighter Finale card in April, and two featherweight fights have been added -- Bart Palaszewski vs. Cole Miller and Daniel Pineda vs. Justin Lawrence.
The UFC has four events scheduled for April, and in the middle of the month The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale takes place in Las Vegas. In addition to the previously announced title fight between Demetrious Johnson vs. John Moraga as the night's main event, the Las Vegas Review Journal confirmed that two featherweight bouts have also been added to the card, and all four fighters are coming off a loss. WEC LW and FW veteran Bart Palaszewski fights Cole Miller, while Daniel Pineda fights Justin Lawrence.
Palaszewski (36-16 MMA, 1-2 UFC) entered the UFC as a WEC lightweight, but dropped to featherweight before his debut against Tyson Griffin. In what was a catchweight bout after Griffin missed weight, the hard-hitting Palaszewski KO'd Tyson in the first round. The success for Bart has stopped there, with consecutive losses to Hatsu Hioki and Diego Nunes in 2012. Miller (18-7 MMA, 7-5 UFC) is a TUF 5 alum who dropped from LW to FW last year, but the results so far have been largely negative. He lost to Steven Siler and Nam Phan in March and August respectively, and much like Palaszewski, it puts his UFC future in jeopardy.
Pineda (17-9 MMA, 2-2 UFC) is also on a two-fight skid, with losses to Mike Brown and Antonio Carvalho. His two wins come against Pat Schilling and Mackens Semerzier. Lawrence (4-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC), a TUF 15 cast member and quarterfinalist, lost via TKO to Max Holloway at UFC 150. He did earn FOTN and KOTN honors against John Cofer on the TUF 15 Finale with a 3rd round head kick KO.
This is how the current card looks:
Demetrious Johnson vs. John Moraga (FLW title)
TUF Finalist 1 vs. TUF Finalist 2
Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Travis Browne
Miesha Tate vs. Cat Zingano
Bart Palaszewski vs. Cole Miller
Daniel Pineda vs. Justin Lawrence
