UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo has opened as a small betting favorite over Anthony Pettis well ahead of their August title bout.
The bout isn't taking place until August, but that's not going to stop linemakers. The betting line for the UFC featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Anthony Pettis is already out, and Aldo opened as a favorite. Here are the odds (via BestFightOdds):
Pettis will be making the drop to 145 for the fight time in his career, and both men have formidable standup games. But in terms of betting, Aldo is the guy you should be placing your money on right now. His ground game and wrestling are better than Pettis', and he has dealt with the weight cut many times. Right now, getting Aldo below -200 is a good deal in my eyes.
Then again, with the fight being so far off and considering both of their injury histories, it might be worth not committing any money until the bout is much closer.
