I just got home from watching UFC 168 with a bunch of friends. For once i had managed to convince five people that they had enough interest to sit down on a Saturday night and watch MMA. If there was one card i could get people to watch though, it was this one. It had everything. By everything, i mean Anderson Silva and hot chicks beating the fuck out of each other. By the time i got to my friends apartment from work (NYC bar bouncer lol) at 11:15 pm est he had already fucked up the recording of the PPV and all we had was the last 3 fights. good enough. Anyway. Everyone in the room was picking Anderson. I was the only one picking Weidman. As the only hardcore MMA fan, i was the only one who knew that the outcome of the fight would favor Weidman. (I picked Anderson in the first fight and learned as hard lesson, anyone who picked him twice in a row is a fool) To casual MMA fans, Anderson Silva is a ninja sent from another planet. The way that the fight ended Saturday night is the most sad thing i can possibly imagine. There is no worse ending for such great a champion, and even worse i think a lot of people were watching. This is a PR nightmare. A lot of casual fans are turned off by the outcome of this fight and i heard some people say they dont feel like watching MMA for a while. This is a sad but true reality. i dunno..... someone tell me i am wrong. Is there anything good about this?
