The kickboxing scene these days is pretty dominated by Glory, but they are not the only game in town. K-1 is still alive and kicking, and while it would be a lie to say they are going strong, they have continued to produce sporadic shows and even crowned a Heavyweight Grand Prix champion earlier this year in Mirko Cro Cop. Right now, they are in the midst of their K-1 MAX Grand Prix, and you can watch it live online.
The K-1 MAX Grand Prix Quarterfinals Part 1 will air in a live stream from Foshan, China this weekend. The show airs Saturday night in China, which translates to a 6:00 a.m. ET start time Saturday morning for those watching in the US. You can watch the entire event on a live stream PPV through Epicentre.TV. The K-1 live stream PPV costs $20.
K-1 already held the round of 16 for this year's MAX Grand Prix - Andy Souwer and Buakaw Benchamek (that's the name Buakaw Por. Pramuk is now fighting under if you missed it) are the only particularly notable names to move on to the quarterfinals. This weekend's card is highlighted by two quarterfinal fights. The remaining quarterfinals will be held January 11, with the Grand Prix semifinals and finals taking place in early 2014. The Foshan show also features a China vs. Thailand series, highlighted by the Muay Thai great Saenchai.
