very interesting story from GSP (in french, but translated in the video below see the 14 minute mark approx) about the night after the fight at UFC167.
GSP tells the story of how the UFC Spokesperson that accompanied him to get some stitches backstage tried to discourage him from going to the post-fight conference, and when GSP insisted on going to the conference, the UFC Rep shouted at him to stop and not go.
(beginning of the story at 14min mark approx)
This is a fairly big story considering that Dana himself at the press conference that night, said that GSP would not attend because he had left the building in an ambulance to get treatment at the hospital.
What do you think about this? Did the UFC tried deliberately to manipulate the situation and prevent GSP from attending the conference that night, or is it all a coincidence and people shouldn't read too much in this?
***UPDATE*** At the very end of the UFC on Fox: Mighty Mouse vs. Benavidez post-fight conference, Dana actually took a minute to address this subject in closing. Dana called it "stupidity" that anyone would believe that the UFC would block a fighter from attending a post-fight conference, he also clarified that it was one of his public relations people that told him that GSP had left in an ambulance. Furthermore, Dana hinted with a smile that "something was lost in translation" when GSP told that story to the Quebec media.
