John Makdessi to face Alan Patrick at UFC 169

UFC 169 is starting to come together with the addition of a lightweight fight between John Makdessi and Alan Patrick.

The UFC is finally starting to add some more pieces to their first pay-per-view of 2014. UFC 169 goes down February 1st in Newark, and now has a lightweight fight scheduled for the the event. UFC News has it:

Alan Patrick (11-0) looked impressive in his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 29 in October, defeating Garett Whiteley by TKO in the first round. He has finished six of his eleven wins overall and fights out of X-Gym, known for housing top fighters such as Ronaldo Souza and Erick Silva.

John Makdessi (12-2) is 5-2 in the UFC overall and currently on a three-fight win streak. His most recent win was an impressive first-round TKO victory over Renee Forte at UFC 165 in September.

The bout is expected to take place on the preliminary card of the event. The headliner of UFC 169 will be a UFC bantamweight title unification bout between Dominick Cruz and Renan Barao.
