Was Vitor 'TRT-Rex' Belfort using TRT illegally for three fights including the Silva match?

By accident I came across this article on Fight Opinion that takes a look at Vitor's record and one rather interesting quote he made recently:

"I’ve (been doing this) for three years," Belfort said. "I did some exams and they saw I had low testosterone levels. The doctor said ‘Vitor, we need to do something. I don’t know if you agree with this, but it’s important that you do it.’ And it was done."

This quote is from the end of October 2013. His use exemption was granted in September of 2012. Now count back three years...

That would include Akiyama, Johnson and.... Anderson Silva.... A Freudian slip or was Vitor's memory just off?

Well, read the rest for yourself. But the last highlight I want to mention concerning a second MW title shot is:

"I’ve already said that, if they agree with it, I would (stop doing TRT)," he said. "No problem at all. If they want me to get there in a disadvantage, that’s ok.

I find it fascinating how these fighters, plaqued by hypogonadism, can easily skip treatment for several month, but claimed to need the TRT to save their marriages, their health, basically their life...
