UFC Fight for the Troops 3 results: Rivera scores TKO, Green takes TKO after low blows

UFC Fight Night 31 continued on FS1 with a Featherweight and Lightweight bout. Francisco Rivera brought violence against George Roop in a second round TKO. That was followed by an odd Lightweight bout. Bobby Green stopped Krause after an apparent 3rd low blow in their 4 minute fight. The ref called the blow legal and awarded Green the victory. Check out how it went down.

George Roop vs. Francisco Rivera

Featherweight Francisco Rivera pressed the action early, forcing George Roop back into the cage with strikes. Roop recovered with a takedown but wasnt able to hold Rivera down. The action stalled for a minute against the clinch before getting restarted. They finished a close first round on the feet. They went back and forth on the feet with Roop busting up Rivera's nose. Roop hit an accidental low kick, and Rivera came back hard when the fight restarted.He rocked roop with a big punch then poured it on with a violent flurry. Roop fell to his back and tried to recover in guard, but Rivera broke free and hammered him some more before the ref called the fight.

Bobby Green vs. James Krause

Early low blow from Bobby Green started the Lightweight fight. After James Krause recovered, he looked for a takedown in the clinch but was fended off. They traded on the feet for the next few minutes. Krause landed a couple good front kicks and caught a couple kicks from Green. Green was able to work the body before landing another low blow as they were trading kicks and lost a point. Green tried to pressure on the restart It looked like another low blow hit as Krause collapsed again, but referee John McCarthy deemed it legal and declared Green the winner. Replay shows that the kick did come across the cup before hitting Krause in the midsection.
