Quinn Mulhern vs. Katsunori Kikuno set for UFC Fight Night 34 in Singapore

USA TODAY Sports

Former DEEP lightweight champion Katsunori Kikuno will make his UFC debut in January against former Strikeforce welterweight Quinn Mulhern.

It didn't take long for the UFC's newest signings in Tatsuya Kawajiri and Katsunori Kikuno to land their first fights with the promotion. As written earlier today, Kawajiri will reportedly face Brazil's Hacran Dias at UFC Fight Night 34 in Singapore. According to Fox Sports' Damon Martin, Kikuno will fight Quinn Mulhern in a lightweight bout on the same card:

Kikuno (21-5-2), is a former DEEP lightweight champion who also fought 4 times in DREAM. He's faced the likes of Eddie Alvarez, Kuniyoshi Hironaka, Mizuto Hirota, and Satoru Kitaoka over the course of his career, and is currently riding a 5 fight winning streak.

Mulhern (18-3) fought 4 times in Strikeforce, and made his UFC debut against former contender Rick Story, but was easily stopped in just 3 minutes at UFC 158 in Montreal. The Greg Jackson-trained welterweight was supposed to make his lightweight debut this weekend against Thiago Tavares, but he withdrew from the bout with an injury.

UFC Fight Night 34, scheduled for January 4th at the Marina Bay Sands, is expected to be headlined by a welterweight battle between Jake Ellenberger and Tarec Saffiedine.
