If you're a fan of women's MMA, then this card is for you. There are more women's main card fights then men's, and that's because the UFC decided that all of the women's bantamweights from TUF 18 -- that is, those who won the "entry round" fight to get into the house -- will get a UFC shot. Shayna Baszler and Sarah Moras are both injured, thus aren't fighting this Saturday but will likely get a bout in 2014.
The men's bantamweights do not get the same luxury. Two fighters missed weight, and one of the offenders (Cody Bollinger) is already with World Series of Fighting, so you know they aren't all getting contracts. I would think that having the women dominate this card is part "strategic pushing of a new division" and part "the men drew worse ratings every week and weren't that collectively impressive".
So outside of the main event between Nate Diaz and Gray Maynard, the whole main card will consist of TUF 18 fighters. The prelims are headlined by Akira Corassani an Maximo Blanco, while the singular Facebook bout pits Ryan Benoit against Josh Sampo in a flyweight tilt.
Here's the full fight card, and all of the action will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
