Derek Brunson vs. Yoel Romero, Vinc Pichel vs. Garett Whiteley added to UFN 35

Joshua Lindsey-USA TODAY Sports

Two more bouts have been added to the UFC Fight Night 35 event in January.

The UFC continues to fill out their Atlanta-area card on January 15th with two more recent additions. One comes in the middleweight division, with the other taking place at lightweight. The UFC News twitter feed passed along the news:

Yoel Romero (6-1) has looked excellent in the UFC thus far, going 2-0 with two knockouts. He was originally scheduled to face Derek Brunson (11-2) at UFC 164 but the bout was scrapped due to an injury. Brunson is also 2-0 in the UFC thus far, most recently submitting Brian Houston in just 48 seconds at UFC Fight for the Troops 3 earlier this month.

In lightweight action, Vinc Pichel (7-1) meets Garett Whiteley (7-1). Pichel was destroyed by Rustam Khabilov in his only UFC appearance to date, while Whiteley was stopped in the first round by Alan Patrick at UFN 29 in October.

Brunson vs. Romero could definitely be placed on the main card, while the other bout is likely going to be a preliminary bout. UFC Fight Night 35's main event is a middleweight affair between Luke Rockhold and Constantinos Philippou.
