Quite a few fights were made known during the first week of November for the later part of November. Here’s an update + TUF:
Nov. 30th … check your local listings
So, the final semi-final fight doesn't air til the final week of November... I'll have something about all the fights closer to the TUF Finale, as of right now Julianna Pena is in the finals. And I believe 4 other girls will be on the card. I think for sure Baszler, Duke, the loser of Pennington/Rakoczy. The leaves all the "M's"...
It would make zero sense for Morgan, unless there was an injury replacement, but Moras' completely lackluster performance against Pena might change things, and Modaferri is a pioneer of WMMA. It should be Moras, though. Modaferri has no business in the UFC, let alone the UFC 135 division.
Nov. 23 – SCS 20
#10 Alida Gray vs. Katie Klimansky (title fight)
Gray is back in action after a devastating KOTY candidate. (it was a pretty entertaining fight, but skip to about 6:00 for KO)
She's been very active to start her career, this being her 4th fight since her June upset victory over Bellator vet, Patricia Vidnonic in her MMA debut. She's been facing girls, you'd normally expect from a new fighter, so she probably doesn't need much game planning, just continued training from fight to fight. Gray utilizes Judo trips, combination punching, and aggressive ground and pound. The Mexican-American should be looking at better fighters after what should be another finish (all her wins are stoppages including amateur fights).
Nov. 23 – XKO 20
You may remember Schuckman from losing an extremely tight split decision to current Invicta atomweight champ, Michelle Waterson. She's taking this fight on short notice and win or lose, she's a top 105er. I've never seen Stauzenberger fight, but she fought Invicta fighters, Tecia Torres (amateur) and Paige van Zant (pro), losing decisions to both.
sorry for the giant photo, but if you're into a Kristen Stewart-type that does MMA, you'll have no complaints (Amber Stautzenberger)
Nov. 23 – Circuito Talent de MMA 5
#16 Herica Tiburcio vs. Chayen Aline Gaspar
I love watching Tiburcio fight. There's not much more I can add. She'll make you work in a win or a loss, no matter what. Definitely one of the top 115ers not in Invicta, and at "an almost legally a midget" height ( 4 ft 11 ) I can only imagine the damage she could do at 105. She gave a top 5 Strawweight, Claudia Gadelha, a decent fight (who by the way looks like she's 2 weight classes higher than Tiburcio) and beat two of Brazil's best 115ers in Kinberly Novaes and Camila Lima. 115 is the deepest weight class in WMMA.
Herica on the left , at a petite, almost legally a midget 4 ft 11... according to Sherdog
Camilinha Lima vs. Bianca Reis
This is Lima's bounce back fight after getting KTFO in 19 seconds by the unheralded Mylla Torres (she was 2-3 entering the fight with Lima). However, Lima looked very, very good in her rematch against #16 Strawweight Herica Tiburcio, where she showed she could combination punch, defend submissions and reverse dominant positions. If it weren't for that knockout, I would probably have her ranked already. Her opponent is 1-0 and just turned 18 according to Sherdog. Invicta, UFC WMMA and UFC Brazil has to have a solid impact, no?
Nov. 23 – MMA Super Heroes 2
#10 Kalindra Faria vs. Hellen Bastos
This flyweight grandprix final got postponed from its original October date for reasons I’m unaware of. Still, Faria beat a juiced Carina Damm by armbar and would be a welcome addition to Invicta’s thin flyweight roster.
#11 Carina Damm vs. Roberta Maretta
Everyone’s favorite known two-time PED user is back!
Here’s a decent promotion video for the event.
There's also one of the few "big" Japanese/Asian women fighting on November 24th for DEEP.
Shizuka Sugiyama (10-3) with her last 3 wins by TKO and undefeated since 2012 (she took about 1 and a half year leave training in Australia), but she needs to drop to flyweight. She's only here cause Japan just doesn't have big-ish people very often.
