And the chase continues. It seems like everyone is speculating about what UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre's "personal problems" are after his statements following a controversial UFC 167 win over Johny Hendricks. Ever since the champ said he needed some time off, speculation has run rampant about why. Yesterday TMZ said it was because of an ill father and a baby on the way. That was refuted by many different sources. But another possible issue was said to have been a multi-million dollar lawsuit brought against GSP by his former agent Shari Spencer.
Today, Spencer refuted those claims with a somewhat cryptic tweet:
St-Pierre separated himself from Spencer and her agency back in 2011 in an apparent dispute over money. It was GSP's ex-manager Stephane Patry that brought the lawsuit up, so perhaps he was wrong about the details. Or there's more to it than anyone is letting on. Either way, I'm sure we haven't heard the end of all of this yet. Unfortunately.
