Bobby Green picked up a controversial win over James Krause at UFC Fight Night 31 last week, and many thought that they would immediately be placed in a rematch. That will not be the case though, as Green has accepted a late-notice fight with Pat Healy after Jamie Varner was forced off the UFC on Fox 9 card. Green himself tweeted the news just a little while ago:
Ill be fighting on the December card against pat Healy— Bobby King Green (@BobbyKGreen) November 12, 2013
The UFC hasn't confirmed that bit of news yet. Green (21-5) moved to 2-0 in the UFC with the TKO win over Krause, which saw him land repeated low blows before scoring with a kick to the midsection that was also very close to being low. Referee John McCarthy ruled that the kick was legal though, and awarded Green the victory. He will now face Healy (31-16, 1 NC), who is coming off a loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 165.
The fight will still take place on the preliminary card. UFC on Fox 9 will take place in Sacramento, CA on December 14th and features a UFC flyweight title fight between Demetrious Johnson and Joseph Benavidez as the headliner.
