Uriah Hall on Mayhem Miller incident: 'I hope he gets the help he needs before it gets worse'

Uriah Hall gives his side of the story regarding what transpired with Jason "Mayhem" Miller at a recent BAMMA event.

In the video, we see one man shouting racial slurs at another man as a third man in a suit, holding a walkie-talkie tries to keep the first two men separated. The man in the suit does his best, but the man the slurs are being directed at takes a swing at the man delivering those words. The video cuts out as shouts are heard, presumably from security, about getting one of the men out the door.

The men involved in the scuffle, which took place on October 25 at BAMMA USA Badbeat 11, were Jason "Mayhem" Miller and Uriah Hall. Miller was the one delivering the racially charged diatribe; Hall was the one attempting to deliver the punch.

The video, 34-seconds long, obviously does not paint a complete picture of what transpired that night at the Commerce Casino in Commerce, California. To get a more complete idea of what actually took place, MMAWeekly.com recently spoke to Hall, who was present that night to lend support to Rachael Cummins, a fighter he trains with at Reign MMA.

According to Hall, he was asked to step into the cage by the promoters. As he made his way toward the event floor Hall came across members of Reign MMA surrounding a woman, in what he said was a protective manner.

Curious, Hall made his way over, and that's when things escalated:

Initially, I saw a big bald-headed dude. Then it hit me that it was Mayhem Miller. I was a little star struck, at first. He was yelling at me though, and wanted to talk to the girl. I guess it was his ex. I tried to stay calm and just diffuse things. I was still kind of shocked that it was all happening.

Happen it did, as evidenced by the video. After the two were separated, Hall said he received texts and tweets from Miller. When he asked Miller how he got his number, the reply, according to Hall, was:

I am Mayhem Miller, I know everything.

Hall is hoping to put the incident behind him, something his bosses at the UFC have seemingly done, and he echoed the feelings of many in the MMA community when he said of Miller:

I feel sorry for him. I hope he gets the help that he needs before it gets worse.

Hall is scheduled to fight Chris Leben at UFC 168. The main event on the card will see Chris Weidman defend his UFC middleweight title against the man he defeated for the belt, Anderson Silva. Also on the card, UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will defend her title against Miesha Tate.
