Help me with my MMA research paper!

So on Tuesday I received my first real paper for college. I have to choose a "social event" and research it, which should bring me to a "social issue" that I need to take a side on and defend. I thought of a UFC card as a social event, and the social issue was going to be legalization of MMA in New York.

I have just started my research and realize I need some help. I was thinking about finding revenue numbers for an event held in New Jersey or Boston because they are somewhat close to New York.

I have started collecting old articles here on BE about MMA legalization in NY, but I have a feeling like there might be more to the reasons why NY won't legalize MMA.

So I am asking for help with finding data about fight cards, revenue generated by these cards, public opinion towards MMA, opinion pieces, or anything else that might be useful to paint a picture of MMA in the U.S. or Canada. Fanposts are welcome too! Even documents or interviews about the legalization of MMA in the other 49 states would be helpful.

I would greatly appreciate any help I can get, and as always thank you for reading!
