UFC Fight Night 33: Hunt vs. Bigfoot fight card shaping up

Mark Kolbe

A look at the UFC's early December card in Brisbane, Australia, where Mark Hunt fights Antonio Silva in the main event.

The last time Mark Hunt was on an Australian UFC card, he let loose one ruthless uppercut that sent Chris Tuchscherer to the floor and out of the promotion for good. It was christened a "walkoff knockout", which, combined with his walkoff knockout over Stefan Struve, makes Mark Hunt one of the best referees in MMA today. He's headlining this December 7th (December 6th in North America) card in Brisbane against Antonio Silva.

This main event and co-main event combination is an unusual one, as every single fighter was finished in their most recent fight. Mark Hunt was knocked out by Junior dos Santos' wheel kick, Antonio Silva was starched by Cain Velasquez shortly thereafter, Mauricio Rua was submitted by Chael Sonnen in August, and James Te Huna was submitted by Glover Teixeira.

Two other fights to look forward to are Takeya Mizugaki against Nam Phan and Ryan Bader versus Anthony Perosh in a battle of two light heavyweights who wiped out Vinny Magalhaes.

Again, this card is Friday, December 6th on Fox Sports 1, but the time difference means that the event itself is Saturday, December 7th in Australia. Here's what the card looks like so far:

Mark Hunt vs. Antonio Silva
Mauricio Rua vs. James Te Huna
Anthony Perosh vs. Ryan Bader
Pat Barry vs. Soa Palelei
Dylan Andrews vs. Clint Hester
Takeya Mizugaki vs. Nam Phan
Nick Ring vs. Caio Magalhaes
Robert Whittaker vs. Brian Melancon
