In my three years following MMA alongside the Bloody Elbow community I’ve worn many hats. Engineering major. Economics grad. Hobbyist musician. Weekend gym rat. Internships, odd jobs, hobbies and friends have all come and gone, but my love of MMA and drive to practice jiu jitsu have remained steadfast at an age and time when few things do.
I’m a 22 year old blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with light bags and big dreams. There's no better time than the present to uproot and chase after my passions
Over the coming weeks I’m going to plan an adventure through the heart of Jiu Jitsu in Brazil in Rio. I want to learn positions and submissions directly from the source, to roll with guys and gals who’ve tied black around their waist longer than I’ve been alive, and to explore a culture that have produced larger than life figures like Wanderlei, Renzo, and Wallid. Above all, I want to share it with you.
Details aren’t set in stone, so I’d love input from community members who have similar aspirations, realized or pending. Should there be some interest in my adventures I’ll post them to Bloody Elbow to keep you guys updated. Wish me luck!
