Bellator 106: Chandler vs. Alvarez 2 fight card

Bellator.com

A look at the new Bellator 106 fight card scheduled for November 2nd, which will now air on Spike TV instead of Pay-Per-View.

You know by now that Bellator 106 isn't a PPV anymore, but a Spike TV show featuring a big rematch between lightweight champion Michael Chandler and former champion Eddie Alvarez. The two men produced a classic (on the same night as the memorable Shogun vs. Henderson at UFC 139), and Chandler prevailed with a 4th round rear-naked choke.

In fact, all three title fights at stake are rematches of some sort. Muhammed Lawal was knocked out by Emanuel Newton earlier this year in the LHW tournament semifinals, but through the magic of the "injured" Attila Vegh "not committing" to a late 2013 title defense, an interim title fight has sprung up! So instead of Newton, who won the last LHW tournament, actually fighting for the title against Vegh, he's fighting for an interim title for the right to face the champion, who was healthy enough to fight on this card anyway. Does that make sense? I hope it does to you.

Featherweight champion Pat Curran KO'd Daniel Straus 4 years ago in Illinois, back when both men were lightweights. Now Curran is regarded as arguably the best 145ers outside of the UFC, and he'll fight the season 6 tournament winner for his 3rd title defense.

Here's what the full card, which will still be held at the Long Beach Convention Center in Southern California, looks like:
