UFC 129: Lyoto Machida vs. Randy Couture full fight video

Take a look back at this Light Heavyweight tilt from 2011 where two former champions met at UFC 129.

Back at UFC 129, former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida was looking to recover from his second career loss. He had lost his prior two fights the first to Mauricio Rua in a first round knockout where he lost the title. His second loss came via controversial split decision to Quinton Jackson. Four months after the fight with Rampage he was ready to step into the Octagon against former multiple division champion Randy Couture.

Couture was coming off arguably the biggest win of his career with a first round submission over former boxing champion James Toney. After showing his submission prowess against the aging pugilist, Couture was awarded his Combat Submission Wrestling black belt by his coach and founder of the grappling system Erik Paulson.

I won't spoil the fight for any that haven't seen it, but I will say that UFC commentator Joe Rogan has an appropriately over-the-top reaction to it's conclusion.

Machida is set to make his Middleweight debut this coming Saturday at UFC Fight Night 30. He'll face Mark Munoz in the feature bout of the event. Munoz is coming off a big win at UFC 162 over Tim Boetsch who he beat by dominant unanimous decision. Fight Night 30 takes place at the Phones 4U Arena in Manchester, England.
