UFC Fight Night 30: Melvin Guillard's move to ATT motivated by money beef with Grudge TC

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Spor

Peripatetic UFC Lightweight Melvin Guillard explains his latest training camp move to American Top Team was motivated by a disagreement over money with Colorado's Grudge Training Center.

We found out in September that UFC Lightweight Melvin Guillard had changed training camps once again, moving from Colorado's Grudge Training Center to Florida's American Top Team. This of course followed Guillard's search for a new home after the members of Greg Jackson MMA voted not to welcome him back after he left that camp for the Blackzillians.

Ariel Helwani has the scoop:

"Remember, we all thought [Guillard] had found a home after his great KO of Mac Danzig in July. He had trained for that fight with the Grudge Training Center after bouncing around for quite some time, gym to gym. We thought, 'This is great. He looks good coming out of that camp.' Shortly thereafter he changed camps again. He's now training out of the American Top Team gym and he lives around that area (Coconut Creek, Florida).

"He told me he left Grudge, because, basically they couldn't come to an agreement about how much he owes them. They had a disagreement about the percentage that he had to pay them. They gave him an ultimatum, he said 'goodbye,' and now he's training at ATT. He said he is not moving again. This is his home for life. ATT it is."

Guillard faces Ross Pearson at Saturday's UFC Fight Night 30: Machida vs. Munoz in Manchester, England.
