We still have two months to go before the end of 2013, but the UFC has already announced its plans for next year. On last night's edition of Fox Sports Live, Dana White revealed the promotion's schedule for 2014, and here's the official breakdown: (Source: UFC.com)
UFC president Dana White unveiled the UFC's schedule for early 2014 tonight on FOX Sports Live, announcing events in Chicago, New Jersey and Las Vegas to open the year.
The UFC's 2014 schedule will also include:
13 Pay-Per View events
4 UFC on FOX fights
14 live events on FOX Sports 1 (including two TUF Finales)
4 live events on FOX Sports 2
Prelims for Pay-Per-View shows will air on FOX Sports 1.
UFC on Fox 10 will air January 25th from Chicago, Illinois, marking the 3rd straight year the UFC has held an event in Chicago. The following Saturday, UFC 169 will take place in Newark, New Jersey at the Prudential Center, exactly one day before Super Bowl 48 at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford. On February 22nd, the UFC returns to Las Vegas for a PPV event from the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
On a similar note, UFC's executive vice president and managing director of Europe, Middle East and Africa Garry Cook stated yesterday that they're planning a series of Fight Nights specifically for the European market. A minimum of six shows will be held on the continent, starting with London and eventually branching out to other cities such as Lodz (Poland), Berlin (Germany), Glasgow (Scotland), Istanbul (Turkey), and Dublin (Ireland).
So next year you can look forward to an increase in the number of events, in addition to the expansion of the UFC's international reach.
