Two top UFC middleweights have their eyes on each other, and it's possible they could meet on the UFC's year-end event in Vegas. Former Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold was forced to withdraw from a bout with Tim Boetsch at this weekend's UFC 166, but he has almost recovered from the injury and is looking at competing on the December 28th card. UFC Tonight reported his intentions:
Luke Rockhold wants to fight me, he is the champion of Strikeforce, I'm ready, let's go.— Francis Carmont (@franciscarmont) October 17, 2013
Rockhold (10-2) is coming off a knockout loss in his UFC debut to Vitor Belfort. He had won nine straight in Strikeforce before that and defended his belt twice. Carmont (22-7) is 6-0 in the UFC thus far, with his last (and biggest) win coming over Constantinos Philippou at UFC 165 last month.
