The Ultimate Fighting Championship, which launched their own line of UFC gyms a couple of years back, announced today they have purchased the LA Boxing gym chain.
UFC president Dana White is at the New Media Expo today in Las Vegas and announced that the UFC has purchased the LA Boxing gym chain. The UFC launched their own UFC Gym chain in 2009.
"We just bought LA Boxing so all of those are going to be converted into UFC gyms," White said at the conference per MMA Weekly.
LA Boxing has 83 gyms in 21 states and Puerto Rico. There are currently six UFC gyms, four in California, one in Hawaii, one in Long Island, NY and another about to open in Australia.

Rumors of the purchase began to circulate in December, and sources speaking to MMAWeekly.com also confirmed the final sale should be done in January.
