Isaac Vallie-Flagg on warpath, puts "whiteweight division" on notice

Zuffa fighter Isaac Vallie-Flagg sat down with Prickly Pair Studios for this brief interview. Vallie-Flagg discussed his current state of limbo between the dying Strikeforce organization and hopefully the UFC, from whom he’s waiting a call. He calls out Al Iaquinta in a way that might not earn a passing grade from Chael Sonnen, and elaborates on his Greg Jackson certified style of sport-killing self-defense: hit hard with your hands low. Isaac also discusses a possible move to featherweight (lack thereof, actually), his undefeated record at whiteweight, and his surging popularity at Wal*Mart.

Some key quotes:

On whom he hopes to put a beating on in his hoped-for first fight in the UFC’s lightweight division

There’s a ton of guys I think I could beat at lightweight. There’s a lot of guys coming off the show who I’d love to fight. One guy who I noticed was looking for a fight recently was that Al Iaquinta kid who was runner up on TUF 15 season. He’s a tough kid, he likes to stand and bang, and I think me and him would be an exiting fight.…

…that was my horrible version of a call-out, my passive aggressive callout…Unless I really dislike somebody, I’m bad at being a jerk. And I don’t dislike the Al Iaquinta Kid. I think he’s a tough dude and I think he throws down.

On keeping his hands low and hitting hard

It’s mistakes on my part. I keep my hands low and get yelled at by Wink for it. The hitting hard part, it’s all due to Wink teaching me how to hit hard. Unfortunately I need to correct some stuff with the whole hands being low thing.
